Early Years Teaching Assistant (Early Years TA)

Location: Newcastle
Salary: £95 - £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant looking to support young children during the most important stage of their educational journey?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Early Years TA to work in schools across Newcastle.

The successful Early Years TA will play a vital role in supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This rewarding position involves assisting with classroom activities, encouraging positive learning experiences, and supporting children's development through play-based and structured learning opportunities.

Responsibilities of an Early Years TA:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities.
• Assist children with their social, emotional, and educational development.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
• Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support children with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
• Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and learning materials.
• Observe and monitor children's progress, reporting concerns and achievements to teaching staff.
• Support children's wellbeing and personal care needs when necessary.

Requirements of an Early Years TA:

• CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or a relevant qualification.
• Experience working with children within an Early Years or EYFS setting.
• A strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to supporting young learners.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
