Prudential Valuation (PRU Val) Audit Consultant – Delivery

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Prudential Valuation (PRU Val) Audit Consultant to support delivery for a large US bank within its Global Markets / Finance function. The role will focus on executing audit and controls testing over the bank’s Prudential Valuation framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and internal policies.
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong experience in valuation controls, AVAs (Additional Valuation Adjustments), and regulatory capital frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute end-to-end PRU Val audit testing across key asset classes (e.g. derivatives, fixed income, structured products)
* Assess design and operating effectiveness of controls within the Prudential Valuation framework
* Perform detailed testing and recalculation of AVAs (core and non-core)
* Review valuation methodologies, including:
* Market price uncertainty
* Close-out costs
* Model risk and valuation adjustments
* Validate data inputs and integrity, including price sources, market data feeds, and adjustments
* Evaluate governance and oversight structures, including committee review and approval processes
* Ensure alignment between PRU Val outputs and regulatory capital reporting
* Document findings clearly and provide practical, risk-based recommendations
* Liaise with stakeholders across:
* Front Office / Trading
* Product Control
* Risk and Finance
* Internal Audit / 2LOD teams
Required Experience & Skills
* Strong experience in Prudential Valuation (PRU Val) within a banking environment
* Proven track record in audit, controls assurance, or 2LOD testing
* Deep understanding of:
* AVAs and valuation adjustments
* Fair value hierarchy (IFRS 13 / US GAAP equivalent)
* Regulatory capital frameworks
* Experience auditing or reviewing:
* Valuation models
* Market data controls
* Product control processes
* Ability to independently deliver audit testing with minimal supervision
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Advanced Excel / data analysis capability
Preferred Background
* Experience working in:
* Tier 1 investment banks
* Big 4 Financial Services advisory / audit
* Exposure to Global Markets products (Rates, Credit, FX, Equities)
* Prior involvement in regulatory remediation or thematic reviews
