The Shropshire PCN Primary Care Psychology service (Shropshire Central CMHS) has an opportunity for a Clinical Associate in Psychology for to join the team working 37.5 hours per week on a permanent contract.
In the role you will work as a semi-autonomous psychological practitioner under the direct supervision of an experienced and HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist. You will provide specialist psychological services to adults who present with complex mental health difficulties and whose needs can be met through the group interventions and one to one assessment, formulation and brief intervention.
You will work as a member of the Shropshire PCN / Primary Care Psychology Team based in Shrewsbury to provide effective evidence-based care in line with National and local guidelines.
You will manage a caseload and be responsible for proactive care delivery decisions and plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care – within the scope of practice and under the supervision of an experienced and HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist.

Main duties of the job
* To support the wider NHS agenda to develop and expand access to psychological provision.
* Working within the identified clinical area, within an appropriate scope of practice in a semiautonomous manner to utilise psychological knowledge, research and theory to reduce psychological distress and to enhance psychological wellbeing of service users and carers.
* Ensuring the continuing development of a person centred, recovery focused model of care, enhancing service user and carer involvement.
* Management of a defined client caseload delivering interventions in accordance with NICE guidance and considering the needs of the carer/family.
* Engaging with a wide spectrum of agencies, statutory and voluntary to enhance client care and minimise social exclusion and to promote, by example high standards of care and positive values.
