Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – Nottingham – Child Protection Team

Rate: £35 – £37ph
A Children’s Social Worker is required to join Nottingham’s Child Protection team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will take personal responsibility for continuing professional development and maintaining performance levels. You will manage your time effectively and respond flexibly to service needs. You will manage cases including Child in Need and Child Protection, conduct visits, assessments, and meetings, and organize and chair meetings with professionals and families. Presenting cases in Child Protection and CLA reviews, as well as court work and PLO, will be part of your role. Additionally, you will provide support and cover for the Team Manager and/or Principal Manager. Actively participating in the performance management system, including supervision, PAR, team meetings, and service reviews, will be part of your role. You will follow departmental health and safety procedures and develop skills through work experience in various divisional situations, such as secondments, job rotation, and shadowing. Contributing to information management processes and supporting social work students on placement under the direction of the Principal or Practice Manager, acting as a workplace supervisor or Practice Teacher if appropriately trained, will also be expected. You need to understand and integrate into practice the key policies of the council in relation to social care with children and families, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a full UK driving licence, and have post-qualified experience. A degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work is also required.
