Are you a proven Field Service leader ready to take ownership of a national engineering team within a growing, well-established industrial business?

I'm supporting a market leading provider of industrial steam and thermal process equipment in the search for a Field Service Manager - a critical leadership role at the heart of their UK Service Division, supporting a large installed base across multiple industries.

The Role

You'll lead a UK-wide team of 16–18 Field Service Engineers, driving performance, utilisation and service excellence across a geographically distributed function.

This role sits within the senior UK management team and will play a key part in shaping service delivery, improving processes and supporting continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, develop and manage a national team of Field Service Engineers
* Drive effective deployment of engineers based on skills, location and customer demand
* Oversee scheduling to maximise utilisation and service efficiency
* Monitor KPIs, operational performance and service delivery standards
* Act as a technical escalation point for complex field issues
* Ensure high standards of H&S and compliance across all field activities
* Own performance management, training and ongoing development of engineers
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, handling escalations when required
* Work cross-functionally with Sales, Projects and Service teams
* Drive continuous improvement across service operations

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience in Field Service Management or senior engineering leadership
* Strong technical background in industrial plant, mechanical systems or process equipment
* Experience managing geographically dispersed engineering teams
* Strong organisational and operational leadership capability
* Commercial awareness with a focus on performance and KPI improvement
* Confident communicator — able to engage engineers, customers and senior stakeholders
* Structured, hands-on approach to leadership and problem solving
* Comfortable working with digital service platforms and reporting tools

Technical Background (Highly Desirable)

Experience in areas such as:

* Steam boilers / steam generation systems
* Thermal fluid or heat transfer systems
* Industrial burners & combustion systems
* Heat recovery / energy systems
* PLC, SCADA or boiler management systems
* Pressure systems / PSSR compliance
* Industrial water treatment
