Legal Secretary (Family)
Location: Ponteland (Office-based)
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Full-time or Part-time (applications from part-time candidates welcome
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Family Legal Secretary to join a busy, supportive team.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside and support a team of four family lawyers in a dynamic and professional environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of client matters and maintaining our high standards of service and compliance.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the fee earners
2. Audio and copy typing of correspondence and legal documents
3. Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and maintaining accurate records
4. Opening new client files and ensuring compliance procedures are followed
5. Assisting with case management systems and maintaining up-to-date client information
6. Supporting the team to deliver a high standard of client care at all times
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
7. Experienced in a legal secretarial or assistant role (family law experience desirable)
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Outlook, case management systems, and digital dictation
9. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills
10. Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
11. Professional, proactive, and committed to providing outstanding client service
Key Benefits
12. Competitive salary: £27,000 – £30,000 DOE
