Overview
Harris Hill is delighted to be working with a health foundation to recruit a Governance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for transitional candidates who are ready to step up into an officer-level role, as well as those with existing governance experience seeking their next challenge. Our client funds vital research in underfunded areas, giving hope to people with overlooked health conditions. Through this position, you will directly support the organisation’s mission to lay the foundations for ground-breaking discoveries that will improve human health.
Location and contract
This post is offered on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the London office. It is full-time, though applications from part-time candidates (0.8 FTE) will also be considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide a first-class governance service to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and its committees, in partnership with the Governance and Data Protection Manager.
* Support meetings through scheduling, agenda planning, preparing papers and coordinating logistics.
* Maintain trustee records, support trustee recruitment and onboarding, and ensure governance processes are delivered to a high standard.
* Contribute to data protection activities and compliance processes, and support wider cross-departmental projects.
* Help the Board and its committees lead effectively and make decisions that secure the foundation’s long-term success.
Qualifications and attributes
* Experience in supporting boards, committees, senior leadership teams or project boards.
* Understanding of the not-for-profit sector, in a professional or voluntary capacity.
* Strong administration and organisational skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Confidence in working with senior stakeholders; proficient IT skills; motivated to improve governance processes.
* Ambitious, approachable, dedicated and aligned with the Foundation’s values.
