Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Type: Full time employed
Location: Chatteris
Salary: £40k - £60k plus Package DOE
Company & Project: We are working with a well-established social housing contractor who are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated SQS to take ownership of key refurbishment and maintenance projects across the housing sector.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead on cost control, valuations, and commercial reporting across social housing projects.
* Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and procurement.
* Prepare, submit, and negotiate variations and final accounts.
* Ensure projects are delivered within budget, maximising profit and minimising risk.
* Provide commercial support to project teams and mentor junior surveyors.
* Build strong working relationships with clients, supply chain, and internal stakeholders.
Desirable Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within social housing, refurbishment, or planned maintenance.
* Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of schedule of rates, cost reporting, and contractual procedures.
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
* Confident communicator with the ability to build lasting relationships.
