About the area
The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a joint venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia (UWA), and one of the largest astronomy institutions in Australia. ICRAR is a lead organisation in the global SKA Project, which will transform our understanding of the Universe. The Astrophotonics Group at ICRAR develops cutting‑edge photonic systems for radio astronomy, optical astronomy, and space science, combining expertise in physics, engineering, and astronomy.
About the opportunity
* Lead quality assurance for the SKA‑Mid Frequency Distribution System, ensuring compliance with international standards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and global partners to deliver a robust, scalable solution for the SKA.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and oversee quality processes from design to deployment.
About you
* Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, quality management, or equivalent professional experience.
* Extensive experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
* Strong knowledge of IPC J‑STD‑001H standards and electronic assembly quality requirements.
* Proven ability to manage nonconformance processes and conduct internal/external audits.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
