A global engineering manufacturer working within the live events and specialist structures sector is looking to recruit a Waterjet Operator to join its production team. The site delivers complex mechanical structures and assemblies for use in large‑scale installations and touring projects. This role sits within the machining function and focuses on the accurate cutting and preparation of components using waterjet equipment.
The role
You’ll be responsible for operating waterjet machinery to cut a range of materials in line with technical drawings and production requirements. The work is quality‑focused and requires good attention to detail, particularly where components feed into downstream assembly.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating waterjet cutting machinery to produce components to specification
Setting up jobs in line with drawings, work instructions and material requirements
Loading and unloading materials safely
Inspecting finished components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
Carrying out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
Working closely with production and engineering teams to maintain workflow
Following health and safety procedures at all times
What you’ll need
Experience operating waterjet machinery or similar CNC/profile cutting equipment
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
Good attention to detail and quality awareness
Comfortable working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Basic IT skills for job input and tracking
Experience working with metals or engineered materials would be beneficial.
