Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reed Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a well-established and reputable accountancy practice in Lisburn to recruit a Bookkeeper. This is a permanent, office-based position offering flexible hours, part-time or full-time (4 or 5 days per week).
Responsibilities:
1. Record and process financial transactions for clients, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
2. Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in ledgers and journals, following accounting standards.
3. Prepare and file VAT returns, payroll taxes, and other statutory returns.
4. Assist with preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and financial reports.
5. Prepare for Making Tax Digital compliance.
6. Communicate with clients and respond to queries.
7. Maintain organized accounting files and documents.
8. Perform other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting technician, ideally in an accountancy practice.
2. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
3. Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
4. Attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
