For those with a background in small animal nursing who are interested in a career shift, we’re excited to offer support and training to transition to equine nursing.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Donnington Grove, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our veterinary surgeons both in the hospital and occasionally on the road assisting with diagnostic imaging. Our rolling rota includes a mix of inpatient care and theatre/surgical shifts, ensuring variety in your work.

Responsibilities
* Delivering high-quality inpatient care, including administering medications, conducting clinical checks, wound management, and assisting in theatre.
* Managing patient admissions and discharges.
* Supporting diagnostic imaging procedures, both onsite and on the road.

Team and Facilities
Donnington Grove Veterinary Group is a large, well-equipped practice in Newbury, Berkshire, welcoming both first opinion and referral cases across surgery, MRI, CT, scintigraphy, and medical investigations. Our facility boasts a robust in-house laboratory, a range of mobile equipment, and support for ambulatory procedures. We’re open 7 days a week, year-round, ensuring both routine and emergency care for our patients.
Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking a nurse with a genuine passion for equine care, ideally with some relevant experience. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to maintaining high clinical standards and delivering exceptional client care, thrive in a dynamic and collaborative team setting, and demonstrate outstanding communication skills to support both clients and colleagues.
Working hours
This is a full-time role, averaging 39 hours per week with rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Salary up to £30,743 per annum DOE. Benefits include:
