Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to offer a Band 6 Team Leader permanent position on the Coronary Care Unit and Cath Labs. The CCU is a busy 12‑bed unit providing both elective and emergency admissions. The role may also involve rotation into the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories. Responsibilities
You will provide strong leadership, excellent communication and support to staff with clinical expertise. The successful candidate is expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising basic standards of care and professionalism. The role may include rotation into the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Degree‑level qualification relevant to the role
* Professional qualification and training to lead the clinical team with relevant knowledge and skills for the specialist area
* Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire safety, etc.
* Four years post‑registration experience desirable; at least two years at Band 5 with proven management and leadership skills.
* Cardiac pathway qualification desirable.
Essential Experience
* Experience in nursing care, knowledge and expertise relevant to the clinical area within the NHS or a relevant health care organisation.
* Experience in the take‑charge role and the ability to lead a shift, manage the clinical area, lead people and deal with emergencies and queries effectively.
Desirable Experience
* Experience leading a team or in a service change/QI project.

* Professional clinical knowledge and the ability to plan, develop and implement programmes of care.
* Skills to assess and interpret complex patient needs and provide expert advice and guidance.
* Clinical competence for the role supporting evidence‑based practice.
