About the job
The successful candidate will:
Be a key member of ARC's Compliance Department, ultimately responsible for ensuring that all ARC's activities and operations are always fully compliant with any applicable legislation.
Under the leadership of the Chief Compliance Officer, lead the 2nd line of defence oversight across our business and challenge risk management activities, as well as provide advice, mentorship, training and tools to support adoption of framework, policies and practices.
Develop the day-to-day relationship with key regulator in a specific region (but also with other regulators as needed), and compile and oversee all regulatory reporting while adhering to reporting schedules.
Provide subject matter expertise to the business and senior management on regulatory developments.
Assist the Chief Compliance Officer and Management in setting out a vision for how we develop, run, communicate and mitigate or reduce risk and ensure compliance.
Deliver training ensuring all employees are familiar with and adhere to all applicable regulations and ARC's Code of Conduct.
Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in developing, implementing and delivering effective risk management frameworks, policies and processes to monitor risk exposures against ARC's risk appetite.
Own & deliver risk initiatives & projects across ARC to ensure alignment with ARC's Governance Framework.
Ensure that compliance structures are implemented and enforceable through ongoing testing within ARC.
Monitor and recommend corrective measures for potential risk issues and/or compliance vulnerability.
Participate in Committees and other internal Bodies as representative of compliance when required or requested.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Qualifications:
Academic degree (BA/MSA/MBA or equivalent) and/or professional compliance qualification
Minimum 5 years of compliance and risk management experience within a highly regulated environment (financial services, banking, insurance, or credit rating agency)
Outstanding knowledge of compliance, risk management and governance frameworks
Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
Possess credibility and gravitas with the resilience to provide insight and challenge at Executive level
Strategic thinking with a passion for embedding robust risk and compliance solutions into a fast-growing business
Experience with FCA, ESMA or other regulatory bodies beneficial
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA, SEC, ESMA, IOSCO) governing rating agencies
General understanding of investment, financial and fixed income markets, including understanding of industry, regulatory and economic aspects
Strong organisational and presentation skills
High level knowledge and ability with Microsoft Office
Fluent English written and verbal communications skills
Spoken and written proficiency in at least one other language advantageous
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
