Core by Clare Smyth, our three Michelin-starred restaurant in Notting Hill, is looking for a talented and motivated Pastry Sous Chef to join our pastry team.
This role is perfect for an ambitious pastry chef who loves working with precision, creativity, and consistency, and who’s excited to support a pastry section operating at the very highest level. You’ll work closely with our Head Pastry Chef, helping to deliver exceptional desserts and maintain the standards that define Core.
What you’ll be doing
* Supporting the day-to-day running of the pastry section
* Making sure everything leaving the kitchen meets our quality and consistency standards
* Working with the Head Pastry Chef on menu ideas, new projects and development
* Keeping the pastry kitchen organised, clean, and running smoothly
* Helping train and guide junior members of the pastry team
* Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Your experience
* Minimum of five years’ experience in fine dining and/or Michelin-starred kitchens, with a strong focus on the pastry section
* Highly motivated individual with clear ambition and a genuine desire for career progression
* Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
* Responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a small team of 4–5 chefs
* Strong leadership skills with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency
* Primarily based within Core, with potential opportunities to work across other sites within the group
* Must have the legal right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship
