About the Job Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily accounting activities and assisting in the production of monthly management accounts, including: Key responsibilities Processing purchase invoices, allocating payments, and reconciling supplier accounts Creating and presenting payment runs to management for review and sign-off Monitoring the finance inbox (Account UR mailbox) and responding to financial queries in a timely manner Assisting in analysis of match expenditure and other cost analysis Performing bank reconciliations across all bank accounts, company credit cards, and petty cash Supporting accounts receivable processes including invoicing and reconciliation across multiple income streams Supporting month-end and year-end financial close activities Assisting with internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation Contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function Preparing ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management Preparing and submitting medical claim forms Reconciling and processing staff expense claims in line with company policy and HMRC procedures Coordinating ordering and handover logistics of staff cars, including administration of Fleet Manager software Assisting with Levelling-Up Funding payments and maintaining accurate documentation Previous experience Previous experience in an accounts assistant or finance support role Strong understanding of accounting principles including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations Experience supporting month-end processes and financial reporting Strong Excel and IT skills with experience using finance systems High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments Ability to work independently and as part of a team For further information on this opportunity or if you are considering the next step in your career get in touch with Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.
