Join Our Team as a Housekeeper
We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and compassionate Housekeeper to support our community by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments. This role is perfect for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in supporting a meaningful community setting.
Hours: 20 per week
Salary: £13,.00 (20 hours per week)
Main Duties
As a Housekeeper, your responsibilities will include:
1. Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuuming designated areas to required standards
2. Emptying litter bins and removing waste to designated areas
3. Cleaning toilets and bathrooms, using powered equipment where necessary (scrubbing machines, wet pick‑up machines, vacuum cleaners)
4. Cleaning working surfaces and furniture as directed
5. Responding to flooding or other emergency cleaning needs
6. Preparing bedrooms for new International Volunteers
7. Setting up rooms for refreshments on Corporate Volunteering days and engaging with volunteers
8. Carrying out any additional appropriate duties related to the role
Qualifications
Essential
9. No formal qualifications required, but willingness to complete essential training (including safe use of cleaning equipment and Health & Safety training)
10. Compliance with safety policies and procedures, including proper use of chemicals and incident reporting
11. Awareness of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions
Desirable
12. Familiarity with cleaning equipment
13. Previous experience in a residential or hospitality environment
Experience & Skills
Essential
14. Ability to work independently and show initiative
15. Comfortable interacting with residents, day students, employees, and volunteers
16. Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
17. Strong attention to detail
Desirable
18. Previous experience in a similar housekeeping or cleaning role
