Role Summary Reporting to the Risk & Audit Manager, the Risk & Audit Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of audit and assurance activities, providing guidance and assurance to the business. The key focus of the role will be to support the business in managing risk through delivery of assurance activities providing relevant and timely professional advice. Responsibilities Working with the Internal Audit team, and in accordance with the organisation’s strategic priorities and the Audit & Risk Committee’s direction, contribute to the delivery of the internal audit programme to effectively manage business risk. Execution of independent audits and assurance reviews of organisational processes and controls, taking responsibility for scoping, planning, executing, reporting and making recommendations for improvements to provide assurance over the organisation’s control frameworks. Tracking and documenting of recommendation implementation and preparation of regular reporting for senior management. Facilitate the delivery of external audit engagements working with Xoserve’s service provider. Support the effective implementation of the corporate risk management framework across the organisation. Provide assurance to the business on the effective mitigation of risk, through preparation of reporting for Audit & Risk Committee, Executive team and Contract Management Committee. Provide professional advice, support, training and guidance to the business to improve understanding and knowledge of control frameworks, policies, procedures, legislative requirements and best practice to support the business in managing risk. Create and maintain positive and effective professional working relationships with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain an understanding of business controls and future assurance requirements. Develop and contribute to team and organisational initiatives as a means of continuous improvement and represent departmental perspective in support of the wider business objectives. Key skills & Experience Essential Accountancy, Audit (or equivalent qualification) and demonstrable experience in delivering Internal Audit.
