Overall purpose of the role As a Trainee Accountant, you’ll be a driven person, eager to learn, challenge and consistently deliver high quality work in a timely manner. You’ll be preparing work to a high standard, so great attention to detail is essential. This role has a broad scope, covering various areas of accounting and it provides an excellent introduction to accountancy. You’ll receive hands-on training and support while gaining experience across a range of core finance tasks. You’ll be working alongside experienced colleagues who will help you build confidence and capability over time. You will receive support on training costs with the aim of becoming a chartered accountant. This will require a separate training contract to be signed. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Processing invoices and payments (accounts payable and receivable) Assisting with bank reconciliations and treasury activities Supporting the month-end close process Pursuing Deal Debt (Credit Control) Helping prepare internal reports and summaries Maintaining financial records accurately and efficiently Taking part in finance projects and ad hoc work as required Compliance and regulation Develop and maintain a full understanding of the Company’s compliance requirements (including the Financial Conduct Authority’s Conduct Rules) and act in accordance with the standards, instructions in, and the spirit of those requirements. Take responsibility for ensuring that personal data within your remit is handled lawfully, fairly, and in line with the company’s data protection policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with data protection standards, guidelines, and principles, acting in a manner that upholds these requirements while supporting the DPO’s overall oversight responsibilities. For customer data, ensure it is processed securely and in accordance with data privacy obligations to protect the rights of individuals. For employee personal data, handle it with strict confidentiality and in compliance with employment and data protection legislation.
