Job Description - Calibration EngineerRole OverviewJob Title: Calibration EngineerJob Code: Calibration Engineer - Telford Location: Telford, Shropshire, United KingdomWork Type: Onsite (with occasional customer site travel This role is based at the Service Centre in Telford, supporting calibration, validation, and repair of dimensional test instruments and mechanical torque tools to ensure functionality and accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform calibration, validation, and repair of mechanical/dimensional and analytical test instruments.Carry out routine technical tasks using prescribed procedures and sound technical judgment.Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical calibration and testing issues.Understand and respond to customer requirements through written and face-to-face communication.Travel to customer sites (less than 25%) to conduct onsite calibration activities.Required Skills & ExperienceExperienceProven experience in mechanical calibration, maintenance, and repair.Experience working in laboratory or manufacturing environments preferred.Technical SkillsProficiency with calibration tools, equipment, and related software.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and measurement principles.Core CompetenciesStrong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.High attention to detail and accuracy in technical work.Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.Physical capability to lift/move equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in varied environments.EducationRelevant technical education or equivalent practical experience in calibration, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.Work ScheduleHours per Week: 37.5Days per Week: 5Hours per Day: 7.5
