As the Commissioning and Installation Engineer for the Global Solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and validating new equipment or systems on-site to ensure they operate safely and efficiently according to specifications.
You will report to the Project Resource Manager and handle installation, commissioning/testing, troubleshooting, documentation, client liaison, and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
* Project familiarisation: review the project folder, key contacts, and installation schedule.
* Travel and accommodation logistics.
* Pre‑start meetings with clients to agree the installation schedule and any other items.
* Equipment stocktakes and frequent safety checks.
* Training overview with site staff.
* Installation and commissioning of locks, remote controllers, and elevator controllers (commissioning only).
* Identify and manage additional labour resources as needed.
* Report daily and at the end of installation to the Project Resource Manager and Project Manager.
* Work in a clean and efficient manner at all times.
* Package items for return to head office, label, and hand over items for disposal to site.
* Liaise with site personnel on scheduling, queries, and progress of the project.
* Set up user‑defined system parameters.
* Carry out site changes and testing.
* Liaison with subcontractors (elevator, car park barriers, entrance doors).
* Comply with Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), Health & Safety, and Operating Manuals.
* Attend site meetings where necessary for smooth running of the project.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues onsite.
* Hand over and sign‑off by client for each project.
* Weekly management of engineers’ car stock and handling returns.
* Administration: submit timesheets, expenses, and signed acceptance certificates every Friday.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with project coordination and administrative processes.
* Knowledge of system licensing and hotel access technologies (preferred).
* Proficiency in Smartsheets and related tools.
* Ability to travel around the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland as necessary.
