This annual program supports individuals aiming to develop their research careers by preparing competitive applications for doctoral or postdoctoral fellowships.
The award is open to health and care professionals employed by University Hospitals Sussex NHSFT, registered with recognized bodies such as the GMC, NMC, HCPC, etc.

Main duties of the job
Support early career researchers in developing competitive personal award applications for UK funders like NIHR, UKRI, MRC, ESRC, and major charities.
Funding provided includes:
* Time for preparatory research, data collection, and analysis;
* Time to develop funding applications;
* Networking and collaboration opportunities;
* Training and development activities.
Applicants should have a strong research interest, managerial support, and the ability to attend required training.

Detailed responsibilities
The award offers up to 0.5 WTE salary backfill for 12 months, plus up to £1400 for related costs. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and applications should align with Trust priorities and health inequalities considerations.
