TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND setting in Bristol, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA to work across a range of Special Educational Needs (SEND) schools in Bristol and the surrounding area .
✨ This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in care or youth work to step into a classroom role, with full training and support provided. You will be focused on pupil development, as well as have a desire to make progress both academically and with their emotional, social, and behavioural skills .
The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right person. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school .
The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with SEND and SEMH and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
✅ The successful SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA will have:
Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, SEND and SEMH needs
Experience supporting young people in education, care, or youth settings
Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
Ideally a drive, or access to your own transport
