Our client, a well-established and reputable main contractor based in Hatfield with a £50 million turnover is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. With a strong pipeline of work across the commercial, education, and industrial they are looking for a motivated and commercially astute individual to manage projects from tender through to final account.
The Role:
Responsible for the full spectrum of QS duties on multiple projects ranging from £500k to £5m.Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, valuations, and variations.Conduct procurement of subcontractors.Work closely with site teams and directors to ensure commercial success of projects.Prepare interim and final accounts and manage cash flow forecasts.Identify and manage commercial risks.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A minimum of 5 years experience working with a UK main contractor.Proven track record delivering commercial, education, or residential schemes.Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT).Strong negotiation, financial management, and reporting skills.Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).A proactive, hands-on approach with great communication and problem-solving skills.
