Teaching Assistant - BS35, South Gloucestershire
Start: ASAP
Hours: Part-time - Monday to Friday, mornings only
A friendly and supportive school in the BS35 area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide consistent support within a KS2 classroom. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about helping pupils thrive in a structured, encouraging environment.
Role Overview �?
* Provide general classroom support across the KS2 year group
* Work closely with the class teacher to deliver differentiated activities
* Help pupils remain focused, engaged and confident in their learning
* Assist with group tasks, interventions and daily classroom routines
* Support a positive learning atmosphere built on patience and encouragement
Candidate Profile �?
* Previous experience supporting pupils in KS2 is highly desirable
* Calm, adaptable and proactive approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
* Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous
* Experience with phonics, reading interventions or KS2 curriculum support is beneficial
Additional training valued, including:
* Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
* Behaviour management strategies
* Trauma-informed practice
* Communication-based training (e.g., BSL, Makaton)
* Team Teach or de-escalation training
