ICATT provides a rapid, short term assessment and treatment service for people with a learning disability who challenge services and may have additional mental health needs. The ICAT Team seek to provide an alternative to hospital admission where it is appropriate to do so, enabling service users to receive treatment and care within their own homes, remain involved in their care as part of their own community and therefore minimising the disruption of their lives and the lives of those caring for them.

The post would suit individuals who have a sound knowledge of and experience in working with people with learning disabilities.

You will be required to manage a busy caseload and carry out relevant physical and mental health assessments, provide health education, support and monitoring of service users living in the community.

You will participate fully as a multidisciplinary team member working in partnership with social care and voluntary/independent sector providers. You will provide holistic advice and health education to service users, their carers and community support agencies. The post holder must be able to demonstrate awareness of current issues and legislation affecting people with learning disabilities.
