Pertemps Recruitment is working on behalf of one of our clients to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager for a temporary contract, initially for 3–6 months.
This role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and confidential management of company payrolls and payroll bureaus, as well as overseeing remuneration and benefits.
Key Duties
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including pay, holiday, sick pay, overtime, and bonuses
Ensure payrolls are processed in line with HMRC and statutory requirements, including BACS payments
Reconcile payroll journals, pensions, and ledger balances to strict deadlines
Manage executive payrolls and Director emoluments
Complete year-end processes including P11Ds, tax year-end, and PSA schemes
Maintain payroll and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Resolve payroll queries and produce ad-hoc and regular management reports
Support line managers and HR with pay structures and reporting
About You
Proven payroll management experience
Strong knowledge of HMRC legislation and best practice
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident working to tight deadlines in a temporary rolE

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Temporary (3–6 months initially)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
