Job Title: Technical Supervisor
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Technical Supervisor to join the team located in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will be the site point of contact responsible for all technical service delivery on behalf of CBRE GWS. They will be responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work (planned, corrective, and reactive) and associated control processes. They will also be responsible for the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all resources to conduct all maintenance activities in accordance with current legislation, industry guidance, and best practices. The role aims to deliver a best-in-class service, maximize resource productivity, and minimize customer business interruptions.
Role Summary:
1. Ensure site technical services are delivered in compliance with legislative, client, and CBRE health, safety, and environmental programs.
2. Act as the Technical Services point of contact for all in/out of scope technical activities and provide technical support across a wide spectrum of industrial technical services to the CBRE team and client.
3. Manage a team of technicians to deliver technical services, utilizing CBRE employed resources (self-perform). Drive the maximization of work that is self-performed.
4. Manage specialist subcontractors where required, ensuring work complies with legislative, client, and CBRE health, safety, and environmental programs.
5. Be the Maintenance Excellence Champion for the site, driving continuous improvement in technical service delivery.
6. In conjunction with the Site Leader, manage allocated budgets in line with service lines and the contract model.
7. Provide solutions and quotations for small project works.
8. Identify potential business opportunities for increased scope and additional services.
9. Carry out maintenance and repair activities when required, such as during emergencies or for holiday/sickness cover.
10. Manage the technical service delivery on site.
Experience Required:
1. Good computer skills.
2. Knowledge of EHS requirements.
3. Excellent analytical skills.
4. Good organizational and planning skills.
5. Ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work effectively.
6. Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and ensure their progression to completion.
7. An engineering background with competency to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements, and trade/skills needed for jobs.
8. Good written and verbal communication skills, approachable and tactful.
9. Ability to write and provide clear, simple instructions.
10. Ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings; capable of sketching or redlining existing drawings.
11. Knowledge of maintenance processes, proper use of work order systems, planning and scheduling, and storeroom processes.
12. Capable of providing familiarization training and demonstrating specific job requirements.
13. Able to lead by example by carrying out practical maintenance and installation tasks to a high standard.
