IT / Technical Security Manager, Contract, £700-750 inside IR35 6-12 months
We are supporting a dynamic, global manufacturer in the appointment of an IT Security Manager to provide hands-on technical security leadership and help shape how security is delivered across the organisation.
This role is suited to someone who can work closely with technical teams, consultants, and senior stakeholders to ensure security enables the business rather than slowing it down.
As an IT Security Manager, you will act as a senior security lead across the business, balancing technical depth with commercial awareness while leading and developing a small, high-impact security team.
You will be accountable for setting direction, prioritising work, and ensuring the team delivers practical, delivery-aligned security outcomes in a fast-moving, client-facing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing a small security team, setting priorities and supporting delivery across multiple workstreams
* Acting as the primary security point of contact between delivery teams, technical specialists, and the wider business
* Providing hands-on input into security architecture, controls, and assurance across internal systems and client-facing services
* Shaping and implementing pragmatic security approaches that align to business objectives and delivery realities
* Advising senior stakeholders on security risks, trade-offs, and mitigations in clear, business-relevant terms
* Ensuring security frameworks and controls are fit for purpose and support the organisation’s operating and delivery model
What We’re Looking for:
* A strong technical security background, with experience across engineering, operations, assurance, or security architecture
* Experience leading or managing security teams in a consultancy, professional services, or solutions-led organisation
* Confidence engaging with senior, non-technical stakeholders and translating technical risk into business impact
* Practical experience working with security frameworks and standards, applying them pragmatically rather than rigidly
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or similar) are desirable, but experience matters more.
If you are a technically credible security leader who enjoys working close to delivery, leading people, and helping the business move at pace while managing risk sensibly, this role offers the scope and autonomy to make a real impact over the course of the contract.
