The department
The Commercial Real Estate Team is one of the best regarded and largest dedicated real estate teams outside London, with over 200 lawyers firm-wide. The Cambridge office hosts the centre for excellence in Strategic Land Development and specialists in Core Real Estate, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Investment, Clean & Renewable Energy, Residential and Commercial Development, Management and General Advisory. The team is collaborative, supportive and focused on technical and service-level excellence, with opportunities for development and progression across offices.
Purpose of job
Led by four Partners and supported by a diverse group of lawyers, the team delivers top-tier service in technical quality, practical approach and timeliness of advice. The firm acts for leading clients nationwide and for prominent businesses and institutions in the East of England and Cambridge, including clients across sectors such as residential development, land promotion, private landowners and family trusts, public sector, education, charities, institutional investors, TV and media, clean/renewable energy, logistics, and funders.
Responsibilities
* Work on a range of Commercial Real Estate matters, including strategic land development, residential and commercial development, investment sales and purchases, leasing and asset management (acting for landlords and tenants), real estate finance, clean energy and general advisory work.
* Collaborate with Partners and Senior Associates on large transactions and provide high-value client service.
* Contribute to marketing and practice development efforts and participate in the firm’s career progression structure.
Qualifications
* Solicitor with 1–3 years’ PQE in Commercial Real Estate, gained within a strong regional, national or City firm.
* Experience in commercial landlord and tenant work, investment and asset management, general commercial property development, secured lending for banks/borrowers, and property support in corporate transactions.
* Clear potential for growth and ability to work on high-quality, high-value matters with support and development opportunities.
