Experienced Teaching Assistant – Full Time Location: Yeovil, Somerset Setting: Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) – Year 11 Contract: Full-time We are working in partnership with a specialist education provision in Yeovil that supports pupils in Year 11 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education. This small Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) has a maximum of 15 pupils, allowing for a highly personalised and supportive approach to learning and behaviour management. The school is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The Role: Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs Working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support Providing 1:1 and small group support Helping pupils re-engage with education and work towards positive outcomes Supporting behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils The Ideal Candidate: Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a PRU, SEN, SEMH or alternative provision Is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour Is calm, resilient, and patient, with a positive and proactive attitude Has strong communication and teamwork skills Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing What the School Offers: A supportive and experienced staff team Small class sizes and a focused working environment The opportunity to make a real difference to young people at a critical stage of their education Ongoing support from an education-based agency If you are a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role within a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you.
