Mechanical Technician / Permanent position / Beccles / Salary £36,210 per annum.

This is a full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with rotating weekly shifts:
* 06:00 – 14:00
* 14:00 – 22:00
* 22:00 – 06:00

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the operation of automated machinery on site. This includes disassembling and reassembling machinery (which may take up to 4 hours), performing tool changes, and ensuring all machines run safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain machines and carry out tool changes according to company procedures
* Disassemble and reassemble machinery as needed (may take up to 4 hours)
* Complete quality control (QC) checks every 2 hours or when requested by your supervisor
* Follow all visual and functional QC procedures, ensuring bores are well-formed and seals are crease-free
* Immediately report any non-conforming products and assist in corrective actions
* Continually monitor the production line for visual defects
* Accurately complete all production records, check sheets, and pallet labels
* Notify your supervisor of any unexpected machine stoppages or faults
* Follow correct procedures for tool and colour changes, as per training or work instructions
* Ensure machines operate safely and efficiently at all times in accordance with the Blowmould programme
* Clear all old top/tail waste from machines before starting new production
* Follow correct blow down procedures on PVC machines as outlined in the work instruction
The ideal Mechanical Technician will have some hands-on experience in mechanical work, especially with assembling or disassembling parts in a manufacturing or automotive setting. Experience with tool changes is a plus, but not required. Candidates should hold at least a Level 2 Mechanical qualification or a Light Vehicle qualification.
