Position Overview:
Job Title: Curing Department Operative
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk – IP28
Type: Full-time, ongoing with strong potential to go permanent
Pay: £12.89 per hour basic & overtime: £19.34 per hour after 40 hours/wee
Start Date: Immediate
Shifts Available: AM: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:30 (40 hrs/week) & PM: Monday to Friday, 14:30 – 23:00 (40 hrs/week)
As a Curing Operative, you’ll be working in the curing department, which is a physically demanding but vital part of the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handling and moving large quantities of raw and cured meat
• Salting, hanging, and preparing bacon for further processing
• Working with curing machinery and equipment
• Keeping your work area clean and following hygiene standards
• Following health & safety guidelines to keep yourself and the team safe
Requirements:
• No previous experience required – full training is provided
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting throughout the shift
• Positive, team-focused attitude and good reliability
• Able to commit to full-time hours and shift patterns
• Own transport is essential due to site location
