Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting. Your responsibilities will include supporting the daily needs of seniors, implementing care plans, and fostering a positive environment that promotes dignity and respect. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have experience in supervising staff while ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Duties
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance to ensure effective team collaboration.
* Maintain clear and accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status.
* Foster open communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of care provided.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
* Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in senior care.
Experience
* Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential, preferably within a care home setting.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and documentation is highly desirable.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous for facilitating resident outings or appointments as needed.
