About the Role

The purpose of the Pastoral Support Worker is to work alongside teaching staff, parents/carers, and pupils; providing 1:1 mentoring and/or tutoring to specific pupils. The goal is to ensure that every pupil achieves their potential through targeted support and intervention, working with the school’s Senior Leadership Team.
Under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team, the Pastoral Support Worker will contribute to pupils’ well-being and achievement. Responsibilities include engaging with parents/carers, supporting learning, managing pupils’ behavioral and attendance challenges, writing Support Plans, and intervening with pastoral issues.
General Responsibilities
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people
* Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure appropriate support for pupils in need
* Assist and support pupils during learning, break, and lunchtimes; manage pupil behavior and lunchtime activities
* Participate in meetings related to pupil welfare, including review meetings with parents/carers and external agencies
* Manage rewards and sanctions, implementing suitable interventions as needed
