Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding Building Structures team in Nottingham.
Our Nottingham team works closely with our other multidisciplinary teams with over 600 staff covering Building (MEP, Civil, and Structural) Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Transportation, Water, Energy, and environmental consultancy. What you’ll do!
The Senior Structural Engineer will lead and support mid-large projects from concept to handover. The successful candidate will have proven design experience and deliver on quality, time, and budget. This role will suit someone with a Structural engineering degree who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and looking to advance their career. The successful candidate will ideally be chartered or working towards chartered status.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare specifications, schedules, drawings, and other contract documents through the RIBA/project stages.
2. Manage the Structural design delivery of projects from concept through to completion, organising a team to execute the work.
3. Attend project and Client meetings on behalf of AECOM.
4. Prepare planning, design, and feasibility reports.
5. Ensure that project work complies with the Project Management Plan and Programme.
6. Leading by example, work winning, value engineering, knowledge of modern computational methods and technology along with operation control skills are desired.
7. Provide high level value engineering led technical expertise when applying structural engineering principles, techniques and methods to the planning and design of building design projects.
8. Ensure all quality, environmental and sustainability aspects of the project are identified, assessed and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
You will be exposed to and grow from the diverse range of projects and multi-disciplinary approach that AECOM can offer and will have opportunity to work across a larger AECOM team, often with national and international projects.

Requirements:
9. To have a passion and have a drive for helping Clients solve their engineering challenges
10. Be a team player, ready to engage across disciplines and work together
11. Have good communication skills
12. Experience in Structural Engineering, including developing detailed design drawings and calculations, specification writing, and compiling technical reports.
13. A track record in Structural Engineering, having worked across a number of sectors, for example, Defence, Justice, Education, Commercial, Healthcare, etc
14. Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with Clients.
15. A track record of having delivered sustainable designs.
16. Must have knowledge of governing structural design standards Eurocodes, BS, Building Regs etc
17. Due to the nature of the work undertaken successful applicants will need to have active UK SC Clearance or the ability to gain UK SC clearance, and ideally have single UK nationality
Qualifications
18. A relevant Structural Engineering degree, and sufficient industry experience to allow Chartered progression
19. Chartered or with qualifications to become chartered.
20. Any Justice sector or equivalent experience would be beneficial but not essential
