We are looking for a keen, reliable person to assist the shop manager in the day-to-day business of a charity store selling pre-loved clothing and furniture. Training will be provided for all aspects of the job.
The successful candidate will have fluent English, good numeracy/literacy/cash reconciliation skills, be able to complete administration, supervise a small team, move heavy loads on stairs.
Normal work hours are 15per week between 9.45am - 4.15pm, working three 3hr days and one 6hr day, including alternate Saturdays. Must be able to provide ad-hoc cover for manager's absences and full week holidays, which will be a 36hr week.
Job Summary
* Sort through donated items for shop stock or recycling
* Price stock according to pricing guidelines and fill shop displays
* Welcome and serve customers, attending to their requests
* Train and supervise a team of volunteer workers
* Operate an EPOS system and fulfil rota duties in end-of-day transactions
* Ensure organisational standards are met
* Maintain a clean safe environment, meeting H&S requirements
* Move furniture, donation bags and assist in the loading/unloading of lorries as requested
* Provide holiday/sickness cover for manager
