Your Role as a Special Education Teacher
* IEP Development & Instruction: Contribute to the creation and implementation of IEPs and tailored lesson plans.
* Documentation & Reporting: Submit required documentation, including IEPs and progress reports, on time.
* Collaboration & Communication: Work with multidisciplinary teams and parents to support student progress.
* Classroom Management: Maintain an organized classroom while implementing effective behavior management strategies.
* Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Conduct assessments and track student progress to support evaluations.
* Safety & Compliance: Ensure safety and adhere to policies while assisting students with self-care as needed.
Required Qualifications:
* Active PA teaching certification (Private Academic Certificate or Level I/II Pennsylvania Instructional Special Education Certification K-12).
* Alternatively, a completed Bachelor’s degree with at least six credit hours in special education may qualify for a Temporary Private Academic Certificate.
* Authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in special education settings for intensive needs students.
* Experience in behavior management and crisis prevention/intervention.
