As part of DCC’s procurement transformation, we are excited to announce the creation of a new Sourcing Team. We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to help deliver a category-led buying approach, spanning tactical purchases to strategic, multi-year procurements.
This is a pivotal role in shaping how energy is consumed for the next generation and beyond, supporting DCC and the national Smart Meter programme.

What will you be doing?
• Lead and deliver sourcing activity across assigned projects and categories using strategic sourcing techniques, negotiation, benchmarking, and sustainability policies.
• Collaborate with DCC Directors and Executives to define and implement sourcing strategies for procurement projects up to £100m+.
• Provide expert advice on sourcing models, from catalogue and auctions to complex transformational procurements.
• Bring specialist sourcing expertise in one or more of the following areas: Telecoms, Technology & IT, Security, Outsourcing, Innovation, or Professional Services.
What are we looking for?
Technical Skills
* Proven sourcing experience with a strong track record of delivering savings.
* Skilled in negotiation and dispute resolution.
* Strong analytical capabilities including supply market research, spend analysis, and bidder evaluation.
* Experience in cross-functional collaboration and solution-driven procurement.
* Comfortable working with large datasets and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
* Understanding of both regulated and non-regulated procurement environments, ideally within secure or critical national industries.
Interpersonal Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills in complex environments.

Step 1

Step 2
Chat with a recruiter
Once you pass the initial screening stage, one of our recruiters will be in touch to chat through the role and your experience. If all goes well, your application will be passed on to the hiring manager, who'll put together a shortlist for interview.
Step 3
Come for an interview
For most roles there'll be a two-stage interview process, which will include questions about your CV, competency and technical skills. For more senior positions there could be an additional interview stage. You may also be asked to give a presentation or complete a technical test, but we'll let you know in advance so you have plenty of time to prepare.
Step 4
Receive an offer
Once the interview process has been completed the successful candidate will receive an offer. Throughout the interview process the recruiter and hiring manager are happy to answer any questions you have.
