We are seeking a dedicated Senior Dental Officer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team and provide Special Care Dentistry services in a beautiful rural location in Ceredigion, West Wales.
The role involves providing a range of Dental services in accordance with approved Health board plans and policies, assisting with the training and development of community dentists, and supporting professionals with enhanced skills in special care dentistry.
Main duties of the job
* Providing dental care for vulnerable adults and children through the Hywel Dda Community Dental Service (CDS).
* Supporting clinics on referral basis only, ensuring patients receive treatment from the most trained team members.
* Supporting the Clinical Lead and the Community Team.

Job Responsibilities
* Delivering intravenous and inhalation sedation services.
* Conducting general and specialist outpatient clinics.
* Leading multidisciplinary staff effectively.
* Developing teaching, training, and research initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent.
* Current GDC registration.
* Eligibility for Performer list inclusion.
Desirable Qualifications
* Postgraduate specialist qualification or inclusion on the Specialist list.
* Sedation experience/SAAD accreditation.
Abilities and Skills
* Excellent communication skills.
* Organizational skills and ability to respond to time pressures.
* Basic IT skills, with a preference for experience in clinical computer systems.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience in general/community dentistry.
* Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience.
* Experience in Special Care and paediatric dentistry within the last two years.
