Finance Systems Analyst Hybrid: 2 days onsite per week initially, once settled will then turn into 1/2 times a month. Salary: up to 60k Location: Leicester The Finance Systems Analyst will take ownership of the continuous improvement and optimisation of financial systems, with a particular focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). Acting as the bridge between Finance and IT, this role is key to ensuring that technology enables smarter, faster, and more accurate financial operations across a growing international business. This position is built around system strategy and improvement, not transactional finance. Key Responsibilities System Improvement & Delivery -Translate complex financial and operational requirements into effective system solutions. -Lead and contribute to end-to-end Finance systems projects, from upgrades and integrations to international rollouts and localisation (for example, adapting BC for regional tax and compliance standards). -Carry out detailed business analysis to scope new functionality and streamline existing processes. -Challenge current ways of working and identify opportunities for automation and simplification within financial operations. Stakeholder Collaboration & Training -Work closely with finance users, IT teams, consultants, and auditors to ensure systems meet both operational and regulatory needs. -Design and deliver practical training and user materials that support knowledge sharing and best practice adoption. -Oversee UAT, coordinating testing, issue resolution, and feedback to ensure a smooth transition for new features and projects. -Serve as the subject matter expert for all Finance system-related queries, maintaining strong data integrity and consistent reporting standards. System Management & Governance -Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation covering configuration, process maps, and system change history. -Support financial close processes by ensuring systems are stable, reconciled, and ready for reporting deadlines. -Monitor performance and proactively address potential issues before they impact operations. Essential Experience & Skills -Proven background as a Finance Systems Analyst, Systems Accountant, or similar role focused on process improvement and system enhancement. -Significant experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) — including configuration, implementation, and support. -Strong financial understanding, ideally supported by a professional accounting qualification (or equivalent experience in a finance function). -Skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder communication. -A track record of delivering projects independently, with a proactive and analytical mindset. -Clear communicator with the ability to bridge technical and financial perspectives effectively.
