Logistics & Warehouse Manager

We're searching for a hands-on and adaptable individual to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring our deliveries reach our customers across London and beyond promptly and efficiently.
About the Role:
This is a varied and dynamic role that combines logistics and warehouse management with hands-on delivery driving. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our delivery service, from scheduling routes and managing drivers to personally delivering our products to customers. You will also be responsible for ensuring our product inventory is accurate, working with other departments to coordinate stock availability, streamline operations, and deliver an excellent customer experience. The salary is £34,000 for 45 hours + £3,000 annual bonus opportunity. The role is for Monday to Friday. The target start date for this position is April 20th.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning: Plan and execute efficient delivery routes across London using our scheduling software, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to our customers. All managerial tasks conducted during a shift on a Monday and prior to driving each day for the remainder of the week. Keep customer records up to date to ensure deliveries are completed smoothly and efficiently.
* Driving: This involves around 24-30 hours of driving per week and around 2-3 hours per day preparing and planning (Monday is for admin tasks at the brewery, }deliveries are scheduled on Tuesday - Friday), using our own delivery vans.
* Driver Management: Conduct new driver training inductions and sign off. Continue to develop the driver training and induction programme with the Operations Director. Organise rota's using our rota software, manage cover for holiday and sickness. Ensure drivers are completing timesheets correctly. Maintain and build on the existing emergency contacts to find the best service whilst ensuring the delivery cost targets are still met.
* Vehicle & Equipment Management: Maintain our delivery fleet (currently 3 vans), ensuring daily checks are done by you and the other drivers so that our vehicles are roadworthy, clean, and properly serviced. Manage delivery equipment keg trucks, pallet trucks and the forklift using checklists and arranging servicing, maintenance and compliance sign off. Ensure we have the best value for money with servicing, maintenance and insurance.
* Inventories and Systems: Fully utilise our brewery management software Breww for stock checking, customer information and scheduling. Keep accurate records with regular stock checks of product and POS.
* Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with our customers, acting as a friendly and professional representative of Pillars Brewery and ensuring this is at the core of our culture as a logistics team. Organise regular calls with customers to monitor quality of service and keep accurate records for efficient delivery.
* Logistics Administration: Manage delivery records, track KPIs, and handle logistics administration tasks on Mondays. Ensure delivery costs are kept under control with weekly data input and monthly reports from the accounting department.
* Ecom and Couriers: manage third party logistics including couriers used for driver cover, national couriers for online shop orders and pallet couriers.
* General Logistics: Manage pallet orders and event logistics.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations Director, Production team, and Sales team to ensure seamless coordination across departments.
* Ecom: manage our online sales deliveries with both direct and courier postage.

Other Key Responsibilities
Schedule and ensure all deliveries are executed and completed on the system each day.
Keep vans mechanically and cosmetically in excellent order
Prepare stock for the drivers each morning using the forklift, ensure all manifests are collected and signed off by each driver each day
Work with the sales team to ensure customer delivery records are accurate and up to date
Ensure deliveries are completed correctly with signatures taken
Ensure van compliance is adhered to with daily checks, ensure vans are kept clean and tidy
Liaise with Sales and Brewers to ensure stock is always delivered on time
Ensure our fleet of kegs is monitored, audited and always collected from customers.
