Design Project Manager

Mitie are recruiting for an exciting opportunity as Design & Project Manager to help build a capability and develop a useable design library that creates innovate standardisation solutions alongside financial efficiencies. As Design and Project Manager, you will also manage from inception to handover on a variety of projects in complexity and technically challenging. You will assemble a Project Management team develop the design with the client through agreed procurement routes and determine deliverables required under the RIBA stages of the project.
The position is working within an MOD base as to be successful, you will undergo a high level security clearance.
What are the key responsibilities?
1. Plan projects using Microsoft Project or similar programs
2. Identify and check contents of Consultants Proposals, qualifications list, design information to be able to produce designs to meet client's requirements.
3. Undertake a value engineering exercise where appropriate at an early stage in the design process.
4. Build, maintain and manage a central design library to ensure we maximise previous designs and learnings to maximise efficiency on designs
5. Provide guidance and support to contracts to ensure compliance with BIM requirements and compliance with contractual design requirements
6. Undertake and frequently update BIM maturity assessments of all suppliers throughout the life of a project
7. Select appropriate tender lists for construction and answer any queries from tendering parties.

What are we looking for?
You will be an experienced Project Manager within Design and Construction ideally working within a secure environment ideally an MOD or Military background. You will have a understanding of the full process of RIBA stages and hold extensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislations and be a holder of valid CSCS card and SMSTS.

10. Well-developed Technical Construction knowledge
11. Knowledge of current Building Regulations and understanding M&E designs
12. Experience of projects achieving BREEAM/DREAM ratings
13. AutoCAD literate
14. Knowledge and review of BIM models
