Position Summary
A major civil engineering project in Dawlish is in need of a seasoned Lift Supervisor to take charge of all crane-related activities on-site. This role centres around the safe handling and movement of materials and machinery for the excavation of a 17.5m diameter shaft reaching a depth of 20m. The successful candidate will oversee lifting strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise a dedicated lifting crew throughout this technically demanding project.
Primary Duties
Direct and monitor lifting activities across the tunnelling and shaft construction zones.
Liaise with site supervisors and project managers to plan and execute lifting operations.
Manage crane crews and slingers to maintain operational flow and workplace safety.
Ensure that all lifting operations meet current UK industry and health & safety standards.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience leading lifting works within civil or tunnelling environments.
Up-to-date qualifications including:
CPCS (Blue Card)
Certified Slinger/Signaller ticket
Medical certificate from a SEQOHS-accredited provider (Safety Critical)
Strong working knowledge of site safety legislation and lifting protocols.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams under high-risk conditions.
Confident decision-making and planning skills in a dynamic work environment.
