Overview of the Role
Location: Poole
We are seeking a QA Technician to join our Poole team. As part of the ABF group, we have ambitious growth plans for the next five years, and we need someone with drive and passion to help us achieve these goals.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support our teams and drive our food safety agenda.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the Quality & Compliance Manager in all aspects of technical and quality matters related to daily shift operations, ensuring food safety compliance at all times.
* Assist the lab coordinator when needed, provide cover for lab roles, carry out routine testing, and maintain accurate records on rye harvest and trial samples.
* Ensure compliance with basic food safety principles, HACCP, and critical control points (CCPs), as well as customer requirements.
* Actively promote hygiene and housekeeping standards within the factory.
* Administer weights and measures systems, yield, and maintain technical document archiving.
* Report any food safety, quality, or health and safety issues to the Technical Team to ensure effective inter-department communication.
* Proactively address issues to promote best practices and Good Manufacturing Practice.
* Raise internal non-conformances and concessions, supporting immediate risk mitigation actions.
* Accurately test and record harvest and trial samples of grain, maintaining detailed results and trend data.
* Assist with audits relevant to the lab function (e.g., Nabim and Femas).
