Overview

This role includes running and planning our group work/community detoxification programmes, case management and interacting with partner agencies to ensure people accessing Spectrum can improve and change their lives. Don’t worry, there is a wide array of training and development opportunities to help support you in your work.

You will work with people with significant mental health issues, social & health care needs and substance misuse issues, and will work alongside the community mental health teams and adult social care services.

Hours: 37.5

Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35

Allowances: Outer London Fringe of £694.25

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:

1. Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
2. Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
3. Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
4. Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
5. Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
6. motivational Interviewing
7. Children’s & adult safeguarding
8. Substance awareness
9. Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
10. Acupuncture
11. Equality/ diversity and inclusion,
12. First aid

About you:

Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and/or experience of working within a similar field

13. Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
14. Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
15. Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
16. Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
17. Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
18. Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
19. Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
