DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Up to £100k + benefits | Hybrid (London or Cambridge, 3 days per week)
I’m currently working with a fast-growing AI-driven technology company that is scaling its infrastructure team. They’re looking to hire an experienced DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a six-person team and help build out their Kubernetes and cloud environment.
The Role
This role is very much hands-on and focused on building rather than just maintaining infrastructure. You’ll be:
1. Delivering medium-sized projects around scaling and infrastructure components.
2. Migrating parts of the existing stack into Kubernetes (EKS on AWS).
3. Solving complex scaling and pipeline issues as they arise.
4. Supporting wider engineering teams – product, security, R&D, and AI – by building the foundations they rely on.
5. Bringing depth of Kubernetes/EKS knowledge to help the team overcome technical barriers.
6. Contributing ideas and helping raise capability across the team.
7. Taking part in an out-of-hours escalation rota.
Tech Environment
8. Core: Kubernetes (EKS on AWS), Karpenter, Prometheus, Terraform.
9. Preferred: Service mesh (Cilium or similar), Flux/Argo, Ansible.
10. Bonus: High-performance compute/GPUs in Kubernetes.
What They’re Looking For
11. 5-10 years’ hands-on Kubernetes (EKS on AWS) experience – ABSOLUTE MUST
12. Strong skills with Terraform, Prometheus, and scaling infra.
13. Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
14. Ability to solve technical challenges and mentor others through example.
Culture
The environment is fast-moving, with priorities that change quickly in line with business needs. It’s collaborative, technical, and high-output – you’ll be working with some of the best engineers in the business, in a team where everyone’s input is valued.
Location & Working Model
15. Hybrid: 3 days per week in either London or Cambridge.
16. They may flex to fewer days for an exceptional candidate, but hybrid working is an important part of the role.
Salary & Process
17. Salary benchmark: Up to £100k
18. Interview process:
19. Initial remote interview (culture/fit).
20. In-person technical test.
