Job title: HGV Technician
Location: Fradley
Salary: up to £50,000 DOE
Recruit Central are currently looking for a HGV Technician to join our Client's operation due to their rapid growth and increase in demand for labour hours.
Main duties of an HGV Technician:
* Perform routine maintenance and servicing on HGVs
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
* Inspect vehicle systems including brakes, engines, and suspensions
* Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues
* Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and ensure compliance with safety standards
* Maintain accurate service records
* Follow all health and safety regulations in the workshop
* Keep tools and equipment clean, calibrated, and in good condition
* Assist with ordering parts and liaising with suppliers
* Support and guide junior mechanics or apprentices (when applicable)
Requirements for HGV Technician Role:
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar HGV mechanic/technician role
* City and Guilds Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on HGVs
* Ability to use diagnostic tools and follow technical manuals
* Good understanding of DVSA standards and MOT preparation requirements
* Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 is preferred)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Flexibility to work shifts or overtime if required
* Basic IT skills for logging repairs
