The governors at Maesteg school are seeking to appoint a teacher of Health and wellbeing. Our Health and Wellbeing Faculty is a forward thinking, sector leading team, committed to providing exceptional learning experiences across Health and Wellbeing, Physical Education, and a wide range of vocational pathways.
We deliver a rich and diverse curriculum that includes WJEC GCSE Physical Education, BTEC Sports Leadership, Public Services, WJEC Health and Social Care, and a comprehensive KS3 Health and Wellbeing curriculum, including Relationships and Sexual Health Education in line with the new Welsh curriculum. At KS5, we proudly offer Health and Social Care and BTEC Sports Coaching, with consistently strong uptake and excellent learner outcomes.
Over the past two years, new leadership has brought a clear strategic vision and renewed energy to the faculty, strengthening collaboration, innovation, and professional dialogue. We are now seeking someone who will complement our dynamic team—an individual with fresh ideas, a passion for promoting lifelong health and wellbeing, and the enthusiasm to inspire learners of all abilities to achieve their potential. We would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers and have a supportive NQT programme.
Please note: the successful candidate would also need the ability and passion to teach outside of the Health and Wellbeing Faculty where required.
