Job Title: Nursery Teaching Assistant
Location: Surbiton, Surrey
Pay: Paid to scale
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
Start Date: Monday 1st September
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at a well-established nursery in Surbiton, Surrey. The successful candidate will possess a warm and nurturing demeanour, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for early years education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities that promote physical, intellectual, and social development of children aged 2-5 years.
2. Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can explore and learn.
3. Support children with their learning and play, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
4. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication.
5. Monitor children’s progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
6. Help maintain a clean and organized classroom, including setting up materials and preparing snacks.
7. Assist in managing children’s behaviour, applying strategies consistently.
8. Ensure the welfare and safety of all children, adhering to the nursery’s safeguarding policies.
Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Childcare and Education.
* Experience working in an early years setting.
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* First aid qualification is desirable.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required. You will bring creativity, patience, and a positive attitude to the role.
